Average, smallest amount of chips I've seen in ages. Onion rings were cold, fish was overcooked, the chips we got were not hot either and didn't taste very good. Why did the burger have a ciabatta bun? Why try make it look fancy maybe make it taste good first, or just use a normal bun. Overall not good. And expensive
If you have nothing else... you have to try Chips, Cheese and Gravy "Poutine". The Steak Burger was o.k. and the fish was a little dry but can't recommend the chips enough.. YUMFood: 3/5
Spent 34 dollars wondering what we got for it, sad to say the chips were oily, not drained properly, not drained right and tasted undercooked. The fish was ok to say the least and the sandwich was made with the thinnest bread possible. Won't be going back.
We just stopped in for dinner on our way from NP back to Hawera and it was perhaps the worst fish & chips I’ve had in NZ. Soggy wet chips and part of my fish burger was cold.. No thanks ‍
Very expensive for what we received, wrapping was so thin the food had gone cold by the time we got to destination and cheesy wheezys weren’t covered at, all Burger buns had been toasted to the point they were hard and difficult to eat, fish was dry, cheesy wheezys could do with more cheese it was almost just chips and sauce, wife is a big cheesy wheezy fan and claimed they were some of the worst she has had. Liked the use of home cut onion for onion rings
Great place just very costly !! Which is a shame given its fish & chips. I do understand the cost of food is going up but still a shame for price of a scoop of chipsFood: 4/5
A strong contender for the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Seen less soggy things come out of the microwave. Staff were very nice.
Hard to beat this place ... fabulous food and fabulous service. Māori names on the menu are great. Lots of nice little extras that make it fun and inviting... like the map on the back wall. Good healthy eating options too.
Most terrible fish and chips i have ever had. Batter wasn't cooked properly and chips were SO soggy. Sorry but I have nothing good to say about them!
