Had been here before but had the best experience when I came a few months back and was served by the hilarious and lovely Jolie. Very witty, knowledgeable and kind - knows her stuff and is super welcoming and warm. After having an awesome wine tour with her I came back a few weeks later to do a tasting with her again in the cellar door. Amazing cheese boards and also the staff in the restaurant were very warm and accommodating too. Great place and vibe, one of the best wineries in queenstown!
We had a fab lunch and yummy wine. On our own bike tour. We had the most incredible and informative service from Hannah. Went above and beyond. She even brought home our purchased wine from the cellar to Queenstown where we were staying. Amazing young lady, and highly recommend an alfresco lunch if in the area!Service: 5/5
Good wine, the platters however were disappointing. We'd been here a few years ago and had an amazing platter photo 2 and came back in 2023 to get the platter in photo 1... : Unfortunately the price of the platter was very very high too, so if you're coming for the platter, be aware that you won't get a lot for you money. Meat was extra and was a total of around $70. The staff however were really lovely.
What a beautiful piece of this planet! We decided on the 3 course lunch and cave tour package and were not disappointed. The weather was absolute stunning and we were taken to our table straight away and the days proceedings were explained to us. We had our 10 year old daughter with us also. The food that we were presented with us exceptional. Our daughter ordered the grass fed beef fillet which was accompanied by what I can only describe as duck fat style fries and a salad. It was only $15! No where else on the planet would you get that! The food and wine far exceeded our expectations and Grant our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The tasting paddles are extremely good value for money as well. If you are 50/50 about whether or not to come here. I suggest you go, it really is a great day.
We brought this separately and drove ourselves as the wine tour around QT was a little expensive for a group of 4 , when only 1 drinks wine... GIBBSTON Cave tour was FABULOUS, very information, beautiful gardens and vineyards to explore, with delicious wines to taste and enjoy. Well worth the trip and super friendly staff, thanks Larry
Lovely spot full of beauty of the nature. We were there during winter. Lovely selection of wine and pairings to enjoy your time there. Very friendly staff and great vibe and decor. Highly recommended if you love wine and looking to experience it with a bit of road trip.
Excellent spot for a wine tasting. It is probably the most well known a popular cellar door in the region, so it is well worth checking out. The wine cave is cool too, it's one of only 2 in New Zealand.Rooms: 5/5
If you want to have cheese with your wine then go straight to the restaurant. They won’t allow cheese platters to co-mingle w/the wine flights. Weird …yes I know. This is more of a resort…with a winery add on.
The place is lovely and the staff are great and very knowledgeable. Wines were good. Would have made the experience a lot nicer if you could purchase a cheese platter or some bread to have while doing your wine tasting without having to buy from the shop. It doesn’t make sense that there’s a cheese & deli place and a restaurant. But you can’t order cheese platter unless you sit in the restaurant with a glass of wine! Anyhoo. Hopefully next time!
This was the first stop on our wine tour and it was the winery I rated the worst. The staff take no time to provide you with explanations of the wines, they get you to quickly choose a flight of wines and bring it to your table and give you some small cards to read that provide some really basic info about the wine. The four pinot noir’s that we ordered weren’t great either. Personally I wouldn’t recommend visiting this winery when there are so many others to visit in the region.
