A very beautiful and picturesque place it is a hidden gem on the edge of Auckland, the trails are secluded and quiet but high quality and a rare place in New Zealand to find a reserve with exotic forests managed as well as indigenous. Great example of sustainable use of land! And there are in it Beautiful landscapes, easy to walk through fields and forests. A little hard walking. Very few visitors, so you'll be fully booked to enjoy it. Be sure to visit the water tank. And here it is Great campsite with plenty of space, bike trails suitable for both family and kids. I wish there was water access but a short drive to Port Albert for wharf fishing would be a great option.
A beautiful day wandering the rolling farmland, I have never strolled through a herd of alpacas before!! The sculptures are stunning, the attention to sculpture/ landscape scale is perfect. While the visuals are amazing, the feeling of being in juxtaposition with them was sublime. 6 stars out of 5 for me.
This great attraction should not be missed. You will have lovely inspiring time during this visit of one of the best outdoor sculpture parks in the world. A couple of tips. 1. Do not waste you time for a picnic during open hours as it's only open for a half of day. Eat after you explored as many sculptures as possible. It's almost impossible to see them all in a limited time in enjoyable pace. 2. Try to participate in the talks about different sculptures. It gives you much more understanding if significants of this place. Enjoy!
We had visited a farm on 30 October 2022 with heavy rain. We had horrible experience. This attraction should be weather dependent. We could not see anything or walk anywhere. We had 3O min on no rain. We visited3 sculpture and then spend 1.5h in the toilet waiting to rain to pass. It did not pass and we went home. We were wet inside out even with our protective gear. This event needed to move to another day. Rip off.$100 a ticket for nothing. We will compliant to Consumer Guarantee to get money back. This venue has no shelters, not suitable for little kids and elderly people. Heavy rain made the grass slippery and water was roaring down the slips. People were stack on top of the hills and none could help them. Mini bussed were down but none came to help. Terrible tourist organization. Never go again.
Pretty amazing, received the entry as a gift and found I really enjoyed it. Well laid out and a 10k walk up and down hills but definitely worth the effort
World class sculpture park and we have one here in nz amazing. Truly awesome. If you have the chance to see it do it !!!
Book this place well in advance in early 2007 . Manage to secure a date in November to enter Gibbs farm. This is a place of serenity . Amazing sculptures that will blow your mind away looking at the sheer size of things . My suggestion is to bring good walking shoes , sun lotion , lots of water. They have portable loos around at a few corners but they do not have WATER. Expect to walk about 10,000 steps for the day.
Peaceful array of large scale sculptures spread over farmland, also a mix of unusual animals. Seeing everything takes a few hours, so make sure to bring water, sunscreen, some food, etc
This place is amazing and very special that is not open to the public full time. I had liked the Facebook page to be able to catch when events were going to go on sale and that’s how I managed to get tickets! The place is as incredible as it looks in photos with loads of great animals.
Gibbs Farm is definitely more than just a farm. Yes, it's a farm with animals. The most amazing thing is all the art works. The art works have tended to be the largest the artists have ever done.
