Loved the pūkeko! It's such a unique little giant thing that made our whole day when we accidentally stumbled across it during our travels : it made me so happy that it was put there in memory of a lady who clearly adored these birds, it's just so unbelievably lovely. In fact, I loved it so much that I incorporated it into a tattoo that I got as a souvenir from New Zealand. 10/10, definitely recommend to visit and chill there for a bit.
Nothing super special but still a nice stop for enjoying your take away or walk your dog.
You can spot the Pukeko easily from the car park.nLovely place with picnic area
Peaceful lake to walk around with bird and cricket sounds. Lake itself could do with a clean.
