Today I went to buy a phone charger that I needed urgently as I was visiting a sick family at a rest home down the road.. the charger was faulty and didn’t work so I thought it would be a simple thing, taking it back to the store to swap for it another one seeing as I had just bought it there less then 30mins ago.nI went back to the station, and the guy behind the counter refused to swap it for me because I did not have my receipt.nAfter calling the people who had served me, and confirming I bought it there he then said he wouldn’t change it for me because he couldn’t tell if it was the same charger and if I had swapped it out for one that didn’t work because the packaging was opened. I asked him if he expected me to open it in the store and start charging my phone then and there to confirm it works before leaving the store. He then said he couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have a receipt after already confirming I did buy it there and if I wasn’t happy I could see his boss in the morning.nI don’t live in Carterton and after being quite upset in the shop he gave me two different phone numbers for his boss. I called both numbers until he answered and I explained the situation and that under the consumers act they are expected to either replace the product or refund me for a faulty product. He said he would refund me almost immediately.nWhen I went back to the station for my refund, the store clerk scans the charger and his till says it’s $22. Well what’s interesting to me is that the price sticker on the packaging says $26 and that’s what I was charged. I was refunded $26 after pointing out that difference to him? but it does make me wonder if that’s why they were so hesitant to swap it or refund me in the first place. If it’s going through the till as $22, who is keeping the extra $4? The business or the shop clerk? So at the very least if you do shop here, ask for your receipt and see if you are being charged correctly.
Says open at 7 but no useless. If you can't open a shop at 7 change your hours
The variety of fresh and affordable foods, drinks, and misc is reminiscent of Japan's notorious 7/11 stores - and you can also get well priced petrol as well! Friendly service from the owner is making my tank full.
This place has run of the mill fuel price but it's the small things that make the difference. These chips are by far the freshest best cooked I carterton. They've got it down to art. Sometimes theres some mean fresh vege options in the fridge which Is a pleasant surprise from a servo. Worth watching this space for a bargain ,never know what they'll have next..
