Such a high followed by such a low with this company, averaging to 3 stars - beware. We purchased a vehicle late Dec 2023 after a fantastic sales experience, purchasing a 2022 model vehicle remotely we did this for our first Hyundai with a great experience from another dealer. Very proactive, patient, and helpful sales. BUT on receiving the vehicle there were several small but annoying faults. Getting the issues resolved was extremely painful and slow. It was clear that our money was gone, and being located remotely, we were no longer a priority. It took six months to get most issues remedied, and only by perseverance on my part, but we did get there mostly. To top it off, the vehicle has now been in the local dealer for three weeks, with a suspected transmission fault - Hyundai NZ are very slow, and Gary Cockram have showed zero interest. Summary: Expect great sales service, but after that you'll have to fight your own battle. Buying remotely was a mistake not to be repeated.
Interesting. I work for a large company that leases a fleet of Hyundai electric vehicles that are serviced by Cockrams. The leasing company arranged with Cockrams for a fit while you wait wiper blade replacement. The replacement took 45 minutes. The reception staff were amazing however the workshop staff really let down their front of house staff. It was just interesting to watch. I must ask myself why the workshop would not respect their own reception staff.
I find getting around chch a big challenge but when I found the place ,,they handled the oil change beyond what I was expecting they vacuum the car and washed it as well for 448,$ I felt that was good value
Fantastic service today . Very helpful and friendly. It was so good I will purchase another 3 years as it makes it easy . They also have an excellent coffee machine that makes delicious coffee
My partner and I had the best experience with Jason! He was extremely patient and lovely to deal with. After having a bad experience with a previous dealership we were pretty nervous about buying again , however Jason made our experience super fast, easy and enjoyable. We absolutely love our new Hyundai and would highly recommend dealing with Jason for anyone that is looking to buy
Great experience purchasing our used Santa Fe. Staff went the extra mile to make the transaction attractive and as was the case with our previous Santa Fe, a beautiful vehicle to drive and no issues to date. Where they let themselves down a little is in servicing. Always a minor issue of some sort each visit but these all add up. Wrong booking time, dropping car off first thing but can't pick up early afternoon, serviced then fails wof week later because of brakes. Nothing insurmountable and the ladies on the front desk could make it all ok with some great customer service - instead it's pretty average for a customer facing role and so I've found a servicing option elsewhere.
Got my WOF done on 26/8/22 it fail on couple of things. Took them 3 days to get back to me with a estimate when they said they would on the day. When i got the estimate it said it would cost over $2000 to fix everything. End up going to a mechanic for other Wof and there was nothing wrong. Would not go again
Not really impressed with one of the ladies I was dealing with, she was a bit of a bully. Also not impressed with the outcome of my experiences with Hyundai overall. Three different situations none of them resolved. The one that bothers me most is my stereo.... It was working, then I went to get some keys cut which I was told they couldn't code properly without damaging something, I got the car back and the stereo wasn't working, so I called them up and they gave me a code, which made the stereo work for a few days then I had to put in the code again, this happened a few more times and finally the code didn't work anymore or would only work for a few minutes. So when I took it in recently I asked them to check out why the stereo doesn't work anymore. They broke the case trying to pull the stereo out, which in a few weeks the kindly replaced but then said they refused to pull the stereo out to check it or fix it! So...was working when I took it in there, wasn't working when I got it back and now they are making up excuses for why they cant sort it out. Thanks Garry Cockram Hyundai. I was supper keen to buy another Hyundai but not if that's the service i'm going to get. On a nicer note, some of the staff are really friendly.
I was very disappointed with the level of service I received when servicing my new Hyundai Santa Fe, the girl at reception did not want me to be there nor did she want to be there herself. On both occasions drop off and pickup I was assisted by the same person. I asked for a price on a part and she said she would call me with a price, I am still waiting. This is the first time in 8 years I have moved away from Toyota and am now wondering if I made the right choice. Consistency in service at Toyota has been faultless every time. They are happy to sell you the car but the service is no where near what Toyota deliver. The car is great, service not.
Always Fantastic to deal with Jason Smith and his team from Hyundai Christchurch Branch. I have dealt with Jason for some time now and will continue to deal with Hyundai because of Jason's attention to detail and the way he knows exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks again!
