Gallery 191 was opened by Jenny Davis on the 17th September,2014 after observing an increasing number of empty shops in Te Aroha. The initial idea was to sell some of her own art but this quickly expanded to include a Guest Artist changing every two weeks. The Gallery was only ever intended to be a "Pop-up Gallery" whilst the shop was not otherwise let. Unfortunately on 26th November, 2014 my husband, who had helped set it up and relieved Jenny from time to time, was killed in an accident on his way to Burt Munroe Reunion. After closing for a brief time I continued to run the Gallery for the agreed period but did not extend as I had a great many things to sort out.
