Story

Fun Drive is a self-drive sports car experience designed to be fun and achievable for all levels of drivers.

Based at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, Fun Drive has a fleet of MX5 sports cars in both manual and automatic transmission, accommodating all levels of experience.

We chose MX5’s because of how well they perform as a sports car and how easy they are to drive. Equipped with race seats and harnesses for maximum support and comfort, our MX5’s are loads of fun for the most confident driver yet super easy to handle for the most nervous driver.

Just because Fun Drive operates on a race track doesn’t mean you have to be a good driver. If you have a current driver’s licence you will able to participate in our fun drive experience and will at the same time, learn a lot about how to handle a sports car in a safe environment.

Excellent track for international racing events, now that it has had all of the upgrades, the first V8 Supercars and all of the supporting races was awesome even in the rain, plenty of amenities at the event, no matter where you sit around the track you weren't too far from the food trucks, bars and toilets, easy to navigate around the track, walkways were well laid out, access to check out the pits was excellent too. Maybe after the revenue that is taken from a few more of these events they may consider installing shade/rain covering over the Grandstands to protect the patrons from the prevailing winds and rain.
Amazing day at the V8 supercars today. Bring on the racing tomorrow! Well organized and great bus service from Taupo to the track free with your ticket
Fantastic experience for Supercars. Could do with more food/drink outlets. Also entry/exit could be improved. However this was the first major event of this scale so the team ran it very very well. The couple of improvements I've highlighted will most likely already be noted & work done to improve by the next event. Extremely well run event, the tram should be proud.

HOT LAPS - Super fun experience, great atmosphere, cool cars! Recommend getting the third hot lap otherwise it’s over pretty quickly. Great gift idea!
Had my first car motorsport experience on Sunday 11/02. Organizing, Booking, Qualifying, all a piece of cake. Management and staff could not have been more helpful through out the day. Special mention to George and Hayden for advise during and after the event. I will definitely be getting involved on a regular basis.
Lots of room and relatively flat. Easy to get to and was quiet. Nothing happening at either race track. Cats enjoyed going for a walk on their leads. Was a cold wind blowing.Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+
