the spa overlooks the ocean and the jets are lovely, and for a cold plunge you can go in the BEACH!!! WHICH IS FANTASTIC! I really like this place. but... the sauna is not hot enough. Could be hotter for sure. I'll sit in it for 25-30 minutes and not really sweat and I'm not allowed to take my water bottle in it which sucks. I get headaches from that sauna because its like being somewhere super hot but not allowed to have water, but not hot enough to make you sweat properly. Its a great facility though and would absolutely be 5 stars if the sauna were hotter and I could bring a water bottle in it. Especially being right by the beach, thats so amazing.
Great swimming pool for lane swimmers, with a separate lane just for Aqua jogging. No children's pool There is also a full gym available with standard equipment. The exercise bikes look out over Oriental Bay/Yacht club, so a lovely view while exercising. Unpretentious gym.
The changing rooms are basic. The pool is a nice size and reasonably priced. The sauna was not hot enough. The steam room was nice but very small. The staff were quite rude and standoffish.
We had an amazing experience in Freyberg Pool yesterday and today. Clean facilities, huge size of the pool 33.5 m, it is very unusual, hot spa jacuzzi and 2 types of sauna - dry wooded one and steam room. Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. We were so pleasednEspecially would like to thank two girls upfront at reception desk, who worked on Monday morning, March 17th, didn't catch their names but they've been very very nice!
I have become a bit of a regular on weekends for the swim/spa/sauna combo - can't beat a dive into the ocean followed by a sauna session. Facilities are always clean, and the staff are incredible also, always bring the good vibes. I'd love to gatekeep this place but highly recommend!!
