It's right on the main Road across the Warehouse. If you don't mind cars and trains driving past, it's quiet a big parking area for self contained. There are 2 toilets right at the top. In the morning was quite a big line.
Relatively clean public toilet next to the parking spot. Very close to a shop. Biggest downside: Trains passing which can get noisy. The spot is fine for a night stay if you need to be in the area, early next morning, e.g. Waitomo glow worm caves. But not the most picturesque free camping spot in New Zealand.
Fine for one night. Clean public toilets open all night. However, really loud trains will pass in the middle of the night we heard 3. We also had two lovely gentlemen sarcasm banging on our window around 2:30 AM for the hell of it. Hope you have a better experience.
Relatively clean public toilets, very noisy train! Safe spot for an emergency, large wide parking for big RV’s.
Convenient spot to spend the night. Traffic noise and train noise.
