Wonderful place. So much to rummage through, and you never know what treasures you will find. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Plus, it's all for a good cause!
I went for the first time a few weeks ago, on the hunt for DVDs. There was a relatively large selection and I left with about 12 movies. I will go back from time to time to rifle through them again. I didn't fully understand the process when I walked in - it was explained to me in a way that made me think when you weighed your items, you paid based upon weight on the way out. But you don't. It works the same way as a buffet basically. Having already paid $10 to get in, I didn't want to leave with nothing, but also didn't want to pay a lot more. I did see a few things I would've grabbed if I had understood the way it worked better. It is best to take your own bag, incase you can't find one there to pack stuff in. People were filling suitcases that were already there with stuff like they were looting the place. I tend to go to charity shops when I am looking for something specific. Next time I will delve a bit deeper. The stuff did seem to be rather junky though - not as good quality as other charity shops.
My wife volunteered here as per the ads that were being put out. Turns out the staff get first dibs on all the good stuff before it even reaches the shelves! Senior staff in particular are the worse for this.
Im just going to be completly honest..... I have heard good things but I can't even explain how dissapointing this was.....my son and I paid $10 each to get in and left with absolutely nothing, maybey it was a bad time but it was terrible, pants with holes in the crotch, linens with brown stains, the only thing that looked good was a rug which we didnt get as when i unrolled it and looked closer it was covered in stains and smelt of puppy peeand they wanted another 10dollars for that everything felt dirty. Just gave away $20 and to be honest I feel like if you don't take anything they should give you your money back! Feels like I was conned out of money.nWouldn't waste my money going back again.nGreat concept but seems very poorly executed. Feels like people are literally donating dirty broken rubbish they dnt wana pay to throw away.nStaff were kind and helpful though.
Paid $10 at the entry and took whatever I wanted! There is nice stuff there and you get a token for one item at the main counter too.nHighly recommend stopping at this op shop!
