"Freckle' is a privately owned Family Centre. Our aim is to provide support, care and education for children and their families/whanau.

Story

Our centre practice is characterised by mutual trust, respect, honesty and open communication between parents and service providers. Families are active participants in the development of policy, program design, and evaluation. We respect the unique place of Mãori as Tangata whenua, and our obligations in honouring both parties to Te tiriti o Waitangi.

We share parent’s aspirations for their children to enjoy an early childhood education experience that reflects the community in which they are raised and we warmly welcome children, parents and caregivers into our centre.

Our children and Whänau will belong to an engaging, calm and purposeful community guided by teachers who are passionate and nurturing.

Children lead their own learning, making choices and following their interests. They engage in simulating activities that provide opportunities for sustained creative play. Children work collaboratively and delight in the fun their collective play generates.
