Currently the Franklin Acclimatisation Society is associated with the Auckland Waikato Fish and Game Council.
Game bird Hunting & Trout Fishing are managed by Fish & Game with input from clubs like ours.
Prior to Fish & Game it was the Auckland Acclimatisation Society hence our current name.
The Franklin Acclimatisation Sub-society started in 1933 with earlier origins the Waiuku Rod & Gun Club starting in 1912.
In 1973 the club had a membership of 532.
