Francesca is a busy restaurant that warrants a reservation to ensure you get a seat. This is not a quiet place. Pizzas seem to be their speciality. I ordered the lamb sausage with pomegranate seeds. It was well cooked and tasty. One person can easily finish a pie. The pear/ gorgonzolla salad was very modest in size for $20. It really needed more content like leaves and pear sections. Overall a good experience and fast service. One pizza, 2 pear salads for $74.
Went here whilst holidaying in Wānaka, and honestly had an overall mediocre experience. Both our waitresses that we had were super lovely, however the maître d’ did not seem pleased to see us. This put a bit of a damper on the meal - however our servers made up for it. Our meals were sub par, really, for a place that has incredible ambience; it felt as though it should’ve have a bit more of an elevated food menu. I feel very middling about this place - it wasn’t overly impressed but it also wasn’t terrible either.
Stopped by Wanaka and enjoyed a nice lunch here. I particularly liked the vibe and that blends well into the beautiful lake view. The food was also bravo, with rich flavours and freshness as well. The staffs were also nice and chill.
Overall experience was okay. Yes we had a group of 10 people but that also means we bring in lots of business. The food was not as we expected it to be. One of our girls had a food poisoning afterwards. We had the tartar- the crust around it was way too hard and the tartar itself tasted like it was missing something. The pizza was the best dish out of all the dishes we ordered! Crudo was beautiful to look at but not the taste. Gnocchi was also one of the best dishes because of the flavors and presentation. The Pavlova was the BEST we have tried and believe me we are foodies and have been to over 50 countries so we try the pavlova everywhere we go. thank you for the PAVLOVA it WAS 5/5!!!
Came with a group of 7 and had amazing service from a lovely french guy. I would recommend the zucchini flowers, they are genuinely amazing. I had pasta bucatini and loved it. 3 people I was with had the gnocchi and thought very highly of it. My Americano the cocktail was really good too. I love that they provide blankets for outside dining too!
