We had an incredible experience with Fox Glacier Guiding on our Heli Hike! We were lucky to have a bluebird day with stunning views from the helicopter flight through the valley up to the Glacier where we got to spend about 3 hours on the ice. The guides were all lovely and made the experience safe and fun! We got to slide and crawl through tunnels, explore crevasses and visit some beautiful blue pools. Just being on the ice and seeing the different formations up close was amazing. Thanks so much to Fox Glacier Guiding, would 100% recommend this adventure!
Really a must try activity in NZ though it’s kinda expensive. But for the helicopter ride and 3 hours of hiking on the glacier, I would say it’s worth it.nnI feel safe throughout the activity and they provide good and ample attire and equipments to ensure you are safe and dry.nnThe guides and the service staffs at the check in are all very professional and friendly.
I hadn't been in the glacier in nearly thirty years and had such a great morning back on the ice!! Learnt a lot of new things, great friendly team and the whole trip was very professionally run with a safety focus. Plenty of time allowed for everyone to get photos in the different ice features on the glacier. My photos don't do it justice but a real must for those Instagram queens!
Excellent service all round, starting from the pre flight briefing to the actual hike. Good for beginners, with some challenging parts thrown in. You do not have to be super fit to enjoy this.nnWe spend nearly 2 hours on the ice on a clear perfect sunny morning. Always follow the guide's instructions and you'll be guaranteed to have a great time!
Kia ora... I wanted to write a review because this was a phenomenal experience. I'm a kiwi from the lower south island.. done lots of exploring in the outdoors and I was completely mind blown... had some deep existential thoughts ... and I even cried of happiness on the way back... I'm beyond grateful I got to do this. Huge thank you to Campbell, our guide, his positive energy is contagious.. he is very enthusiastic, interesting & knowledgeable !!
