Foveaux Hotel

We stayed here because we booked the shark tour. When we arrived we were welcomed by a lovely couple who own the hotel. The hotel is historic but clean and welcoming. It reminds of my grandmothers housennThe room was clean, with wifi and a tv. We spent an afternoon down in the bar area chatting and having a drink, as our tour was cancelled due to weather. A couple came in and the fellow wanted his book signed. Apparently this hotel is one of the older bars in NZ, and it’s in a book. So people come and have their book signed as they enjoy a drink.nnThe owners had recommendations for places to eat, things to do. It was a nice relaxing time connecting with strangers. Wonderful hosts!

We were so fortunate to stay at the Fouveaux with Mike and Pam the proprietors, whose warmth, friendliness and generosity were greatly appreciated. The hotel is an absolute gem also, lots of history with beautiful reception rooms, a little bar off the lounge, all very cosy and clean and comfortable, plenty of parking at the rear, very easy check-in/out process too. We stayed in the infamous room 2 and did not encounter anything except a lovely view and very peaceful sleep. Thank you we hope to see you again some day.

Mike & Pam were super friendly & obliging. We chose a room with shared facilities which was great value for our two single nights either end of our ferry to & from Stewart Island.nGreat conti brekky and they're very aware of, and cater for, celiac & gluten free diets.nThanks guys

We stayed two nights. We felt very welcome. Mike and Pam are wonderful hosts and really made us feel at home.nThe rooms are comfortable. It was nice to experience the history in this 1930s art deco hotel.

Owners are awesome people. Comfortable place. Has coffee and fridge for guests. Parking in the back. I stayed 2 nights. Good location
