A large supermarket that carries many daily necessities and supplies — fruits, meat, chicken, groceries, and household items...nWhat I’ve learned is that it closes at 7 PM, and I believe it’s the only supermarket in the area, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
Had good fresh food, excellent selection of whittakers, and even the things we didn’t expect to find in a small town like kewpie mayo, miso soup sachets and energy gels for the next leg of our journey!
Very good selection for a small location. In store bakery makes some real goodie’s including the cheese and bacon rolls. Good selection of ciders. Plenty of options for a “make your own meal” if your lodging has cooking facilities.
A large supermarket where you get almost all your grocery items. This place is well stacked with fruits and vegetables. Its great for vegetarians who want to prepare their own meals as you get most of the items here. The vegetarian salads, i felt, were quite expensive. So I just bought some bread, pineapples, and milk.
The woman we encountered today at check out is one of the least friendly people and most uncaring we have met in New Zealand, after having been here for months. Unfortunate.
