An exciting child focused community based charity that is about making a difference now and for the future for orphaned + abandoned children in Uganda.
Our Story
Babies and children are at the very heart of this community based organization which was initiated by Peace Ruharuza as a consequence of her childhood. Peace was born into a large family of 14 children and into abject poverty in Uganda; by age three the extreme pressure of poverty forced her mother to give her away to who ever wanted a spare girl. By age five she was scavenging for food; so hungry that sometimes she survived on flower petals.
Sadly, Peace’s story is true for many children in Uganda today.
Whilst Peace is no longer a suffering child she does share with them an understanding of the world of neglect, abuse and hunger.
Her desire, through Fountain of Peace, is to do everything she can to give a child the chance she was given - a home, to be loved and part of a community.
Our Vision
The vision of Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation is to provide centres of hope and transformation for orphaned and abandoned children.
We aim to achieve this vision through the construction of bungalows, family based homes within a village community; each bungalow will have a house mother to care for the children.
The local community will be impacted by services including clean water programmes, the construction of education facilities, health care facilities and the provision of appropriate medical intervention.
The initial focus of the work of Fountain of Peace is towards children in Uganda; however the vision is managed to extend to other African countries

As a Christian Charity, the Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation is motivated by the life, teaching and values of Jesus Christ and is committed to making tangible the love of God by seeking to make a difference, now and in the future, generating hope and transformation to all those who would benefit regardless of race, religion, class, gender or age
OUR PROJECTS:
Give a baby hope
Your donation or regular support will go towards the running of our Babies Home for orphaned and abandoned babies.
Give a baby medical care
Your donation or regular support will enable us to provide appropriate medical intervention for the babies in our care.
Give a child a home
Your donation or regular support will go towards the building and furnishing of a family based home (a bungalow) for a Mum and ten children.
Give a child a chance
Your donation or regular support will enable children to live in a family based home AND receive an education.
Give a child an education
Your donation or regular support will go towards costs associated with providing an education for children at our schools e.g. new buildings, school furniture, books
or a teacher’s salary.
Give a child clean water
Your donation or regular support will go towards our clean water project
Give a child a meal
Your donation or regular support will go towards our feeding programme for children.
