The Kindergarten is based on beautiful Waiheke Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, near Auckland. Our Kindergarten is strongly affiliated to the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. It also reflects the unique and diverse community and landscape of Waiheke Island. A strong sense of community is built through parents and whanau working together in many ways; from friendships to working bees, to the celebration of beloved festivals that bring everyone together. This community feeling enhances the sence of belonging felt by both children and adults and creates a real sense of support and warmth shared by all. Fossil Bay Kindergarten is situated in a rural farm-line setting. Ducks and chickens wander amongst trees, grass and gardens. The children benefit from and respond to the peace of this unique setting.
