Forgotten 43 Brewing

About

We are a micro-brewery located in Stratford on the Forgotten World Highway. In the spirit of the early settlers, we are forging ahead with our ambition to create quality brews.

Story

Begun in the sheds of two Taranaki locals- mates with a passion for quality all grain freshly hopped craft beer and a love of all things ‘Naki’.

The journey began with a kit spawning a god-awful drop know as Brown Sugar Lager, this was to the detriment of the Lemon tree which was the main benefactor of that first brew and has subsequently departed this world.

Fortunately, undeterred and many brews later some very fine award-winning (ok, ok, it was just at the local A&P show, but we owned it) craft beers have been created. After one too many comments of ‘You should sell this!’ the decision was made to take the plunge and share this excellent product with the Taranaki locals and show case to visitors what our region can produce – Forgotten 43 Brewing was born!

What has ensued has been a whirlwind of crazy busy uphill grind. The kind of self induced grind like riding a single speed mountain bike or 'running it straight' in a rugby match; you know there is a easier way, but that way is not for you..

Wow! That was a surprise, a little brewery in the heart of Stratford. Pop in for a paddle or two of 3 beers and a light anti-pasto platter feeds 2-3 easily. Will have to pop in again when we come up to the 'Naki.
Good selection of beers, on and off sales! Friendly staff. Can BYO takeaways for food which is nice, and they have a couple snacks on offer too. Would definitely recommend the chili stout and the hardyards!
Awesome spot. Great beer and staff
Great beer, awesome people
Loved this place! Tasty beers and ciders. Great friendly staff, showed me the brewing process in house. If you're passing through it would be a sin not to stop in here for a beer. Thanks guys. I'll stop in here on my next trip!
Tasty " drop", pleasant atmosphere, definitely be calling in again.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming. She explained all the different beers and the owner gave us a tour of the brewery. The Rotokare hit the spot. We will be back and we will be telling others.
Outstanding beer, lovely people.
