We pride ourselves on the belief that Folkestone Street Child Care Centre is a unique Child Care centre on the North Shore of Auckland. We believe the combination of our Philosophy, our Environment and our specialised Homely Care sets us apart from other Day Care centres

Providing early Child Care Education is one of the greatest gifts given to a Child for a positive start in life. At the heart of that education is genuine warmth and caring for the Child through observation, listening and understanding their individual needs. My daughter started at Folkstone just over 3 months ago and she has been loving it. She warmed to the teachers there so well who are all so lovely and friendly, they were so kind and inviting to her and gave her the attention and time she needed to settle in to make it feel like a second home. It's such a wonderful environment and I'm so glad I made the decision to start my daughter there.
Couldn’t recommend Folkestone more! Our boy has been there for just over a year and absolutely thrives in his home away from home. The kaiako are so kind, thoughtful & personal with each child – my son talks about them all the time as his friends. The transition was easy with Folkestone giving us as much time as we needed and working with with what we needed in terms of sleep/feeding etc. I love how down to earth it is and that they spend so much time outside all year round. Folkestone has felt like family to us and I can’t thank them enough for how they’ve supported not just my son but us as a family, especially as we welcomed a new baby recently. I feel so lucky to have found this place
We’ve had three children go through Folkestone St and we come back because we believe it us a truly special place. Our children have started from age one and we have found it to be a warm homely and safe space for them to start childcare. Part of the appeal for us is that the teachers are dedicated and they stay. With each child we have familiar faces to come back to. Our children have had consistency in who cares for them and been able to form close bonds with some wonderful teachers. We believe this is critical for their first 1000 days. We also love that the children have such a great outdoor space to play and adventure.
Being a first time mum - putting your baby in childcare is a pretty daunting experience. My little one was only 6 months when he started and I can say that it’s been so much easier than I expected. The team ensured the transition was as smooth and comfortable as possible. We have since put my second baby in again at 6 months and much like his older brother he loves it and the staff have been amazing. Thanks again Folkestone!
Our daughter has been in Folkestone center now for three months and has settled really well. All the teachers are so caring and lovely. We will definitely be sending our new arrival when its time. Highly recommend this place. Thanks team keep up the great work
Folkstone is a genuine home away from for us. I knew instantly when I walked in that there was something unique about this place. Every day when I pick up my daughter they have stories to tell me about her day, which is testament to the individual attention and care they give to every child. I couldn’t be more grateful to the Folkstone team for making our transition into daycare the best one possible!
The first day we walked in for a visit, I knew this was the place for our whānau to send our baby to. My son started at Folkestone Daycare when he was 8 months old and I was nervous because he was still being breastfed and wouldn’t take a bottle. I thought that was going to make going to daycare difficult but the kaiako at Folkestone reassured me that it’ll be okay. They have an open door policy and anytime I wanted to come in to check on my baby or feed him I was welcome to. It helped that all the kaiako at Folkestone Daycare are lovely, kind and caring. Was and still am always greeted with a smile. I love that it doesn’t look like a daycare from the outside but when you walk in it has this homely feeling to it and usually smells delicious from whatever hot meal they’re cooking the kids for the day. This daycare has the best backyard/outdoor area away from the public eye where your child can run around and play safely, whether it’s in the sandpit, on the homemade swings, walking in the little fenced off forest/garden area they have or riding trikes down the little ramp, I promise you your child will spend hours out there like mine does everyday. Not only is the outdoor area awesome but the indoor area is as well. There’s an upstairs and downstairs, the babies have their own indoor and outdoor areas upstairs away from the slightly older kids which is great. I couldn’t recommend Folkestone enough. It really is my son’s home away from home. They’ve helped him grow from a little baby into a very independent and adventurous toddler. Ngā mihi nui to the team at Folkestone!
Folkstone has been an exceptional childcare centre. My young daughter 14 months started when she was a year and it's been the most amazing experience . It's really difficult leaving your baby in care, especially full-time but Folkstone feels like leaving her with family. The centre is beautiful but most importantly the people the Kaiako/teachers are fantastic. So is Miranda, the owner. They go the extra mile to ensure you and your baby are well looked after. Updates are provided regularly and so are photos. If you're looking for the perfect place to send your bubs, look no further !
Our Little girl has been at Folkstone now for two and half years and in her final 6 months before moving to Kindy . We are really grateful for the time she has been with them and the development Strom has gone through in such a safe, happy and caring environment. This has been the best possible start for her in life . Thank you
Our little girl has had an amazing start with Folkestone Street! She is so happy to be dropped off in the morning and is always met with happy smiles and warm cuddles which is so reassuring as a parent. Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who have made us feel so welcome in your beautiful centre
