The only reason they are getting one stars, because will not let me give zero. My daughter moved here and has had one disaster after another, and the management of this particular group is horrible from water coming under her wall and being told that it is not an emergency to a hole in her wall not fixed to coming home to find her door unlocked, yes, unlocked and a mess of another hole in the wall to debris everywhere that was not cleaned up by the company. When she calls the office, no one calls her back! This is how they treat members of the military that rent with them? My advice do not rent from them unless you are desperate and then I would have to think twice. They were nice to get you to sign once that is done you’re nothing but a monthly check to them. My daughter has not been living in this apartment due to the large hole in her wall . Anyone wanting information on our experiences more than welcome to leave me a message and I will get back to you. Period.
We have loved living here for a while, and liked the people who ran the place. but since Focus took over, things have gone from good to better. Communication and attentiveness are evident. One breath of fresh air is Kelvin our maintenance tech. He's frequently around the property, and it's pleasure to see how much he likes his work. He answered a maintenance request from us today, and took a look at a couple of issues while he was here. He thinks he works for a great company and we think he does too! Focus takes customers and quality seriously. Selecting people like Kelvin shows it.
After paying almost 2k and getting the keys to our apartment, it wasn’t even ready for us to move in. appliances were not installed, there were holes in the walls, the lock to the apartment door was not installed, and there was trash, dirt, and paint spilled everywhere. we took time off work to be able to move in but obviously couldn’t. the reason they don’t offer in person tours before you sign the lease is because your apartment will not be liveable! this company’s communication is extremely poor and almost every employee i dealt with was literally clueless. we had to break our lease and will now have to find somewhere else to live. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE with Focus Property Management.
My fiance and I moved into the apartments on Webster about 3 months ago. It was great, we got approved to move in, in less than 24 hours. Which my fiance and I were shocked about because we have been getting denied elsewhere. The people at Focus Property Management are good people and very kind. However, the reason I wouldn't give 5 stars is because Maintenance has been an issue. Our maintenance guy is David and he is super flakey and doesn't fix anything. He is always late to our requests sometimes even weeks. And never gets anything done. He's only fixed 1 thing in our apartment which was a jammed air vent for the stove. We've had a hole in the bathroom since we've moved in that has yet to be covered with a temporary box he suggested. Our blinds are broken and need a handle replacement. And our shower drain has been clogged for a month now. We tried for 3 weeks to unclog it ourselves before putting in a request. We put in a request for that and a month later we get a text from David saying he was coming that day and how many knocks he will do before entering if no one was home which was great. One person was home throughout the day and he did not show up at all. 2 days later I find that he put the request as COMPLETE. HE NEVER SHOWED UP!! HE LIED ABOUT COMING AND CLAIMED HE FINISHED THE JOB. MY DRAIN IS STILL CLOGGED!!! I tried calling maintenance but they are closed on weekends. So tomorrow Monday I am going to try to call and request a new maintenance guy so I get my apartment in order.
Tony Did an Excellent job He’s very nice and polite. Couldn’t ask for anybody more nicer than him. He helped very good thank you very much Tony. He went far and beyond to help me out with my Dryer it wound not stay hooked up to the outside vent. He did an excellent job at hooking it up for me because it wouldn’t stay hooked up. He’s very nice and I love the way he helped. He listened very good and he did an excellent job. Thank you
We can’t wait for our lease to be up. We have no outside lights. Not even the front for mail carrier. We all enter the back. They said it’s our responsibility to put in bulbs. The electric to lights never worked. The lady upstairs has no way to enter basement if her electrical goes out. We have to trip the breaker for her. We don’t get compensation for being the property manager. The foundation and stairs are falling apart. You have to give 3 days and 3 times for maintenance and they disregard all those times and do as the please. The furnace has not been serviced since 2013 and 2015. They said we are responsible for filters. It would have been nice to at least start out lease with clean ones. We all share one 40 gal water heater. The people in the office all tell different things and are no on the same page.
I stopped by the Focus Property office the other day to check on my new lease. I was greeted by Kelsey and Joe. They were both very friendly and professional. They were able to help me get my lease updated from a month to month to a year lease. I had trouble with accessing my new lease through the online portal and they helped me get everything taken care of very quickly. I appreciate their time and effort to make my love bing experience great! Thanks for all you do!!! Sue
Everyone at Focus has been very helpful and pleasant. So far it's been a great experience. Autumn is very good at her job and made me feel welcomed. She explained things thoroughly. Courtney, who changed my lock, was also sweet and great to talk with and helped my short, disabled self check the smoke alarms.
Focus took over for our community less than a year ago, and I've got all positive things to say. Yes, they did up the rent immediately, but the increase was reasonable and they've not upped it again since. I may update the review as time goes by, but our experience has been nothing but positive. Kelvin and the maintenance team do good work, he's fixed some things around here that I thought were beyond fixing. I've very optimistic that any updating of my review will be to make it even more positive.
Focus took over my boyfriends apartment complex and immediately tried to evict most people in the building. Those got thrown out because they did not have enough notice. For some reason they didn’t try to evict us, just raised the rent another $200 a month for the same, tiny 1 bedroom apartment. I get renovating apartments then raising the rent. But they have done nothing to our apartment and expect us to pay more?? They have a group of workers renovating apartment as fast as possible. Tearing everything out and trashing it even if it’s perfectly fine and putting in new within a week. I get fast workers but how many corners are being cut working that fast? I do not like how they as a business run their properties. All they care about is money and that is very apparent. They evicted people who have been living here for 10 or 20 plus years with no issues.
