Focal Point Cinema is Hasting's newest boutique movie theatre complete with a fully licenced cafe, open 7 days from 8:00am. Focal Point brings together high quality, modern cinema entertainment, a plush 1930's art deco décor, fantastic comfort, and a warm friendly atmosphere.

Focal Point Cinema offers café dining, great coffee (Allpress) and a range of premium wines and beers. A delicious range of food is available throughout the day, plus we offer a range of tasty platters that can be shared amongst friends as you relax with a drink of your choice.

Focal Point Cinema is available for group functions, private bookings, conference groups, and children's birthday parties. A tasty buffet roast dinner or light finger food can be offered for group bookings. Out-catering services are also available.

Usually quite delightful but today received very poor service. I’m with my hubby for Guardians of the Galaxy. Was greeted with long lines and lack of staff, a rude cashier who forgot my order twice, made me wait for twenty-five minutes , ended up having to ask another worker to complete my order. He promptly told me that the rude lady was the manager???? Bad management. Staff all over the place. Not very prepared for a popular movie franchise.
Good customer service and nice clean toilet! This cinema have the nicest sound system in nz ! Even Auckland's cinemas' sound system can't complete and not as good as this one! I will recommend this Focal Point Cinema to my relatives and friends!
Focal point cinema provides a good movie experience. The sound system is average, but the seating arrangement is pretty good. Restaurant services are good. They deliver food to our seats upon request.
The sound at this cinema is ALWAYS way too loud it is so loud it makes your glass vibrate off the arm rest/stand and smash! we were shocked! Apparently it happens all the time after telling the staff if the sound is so loud this happens all the time don’t you think you would fix it!!??
Had a problem with the movie we watched so it was a little blury, gave us tickets to come back for a free movie to make up for it. Great hot food bought up to your seats and really comfortable seats.
There was a large group of us that went here for morning tea today. We didn't book. The service was very fast. Food great and nicely presented. The staff were very friendly. Central location and lots of handy parking. Would happily come back here
Filthy cinema... popcorn all over the floor in the foyer downstairs.. not a great look when you first arrive. Staff more interested in talking amongst themselves than keeping the place clean. Rubbish all over our paid seats! Not a good look.
I love this place. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. I love for they bring the food into the cinemas. And really decent sized cinemas.
So filthy. Place needed a vaccum, rubbish bins needed emptying and there were no towels in toilets. Should be regular checks of these things! And this was early afternoon!!!! Movie was bad too!
Nice atmosphere. I found the stairs hard due to arthritis, once I realised there was a lift, it was better.
