The Flaxmere Community Centre is home to FlaxRock gym and a whole lot more: hip hop, basketball, volleytball, netball, crossfit, table tenis, karate, church services, youth hangout space, a climbing wall . . . the list goes on.
In FlaXrock Gym there are weights, cardio equipment and group fitness classes. All for affordable membership prices. The gym is open Monday to Thursday 6am to 8pm, Fridays 6am to 7pm and Saturdays from 8,30am to 12.30pm.
The FlaXrock Climbing Wall is run by the Kiwi Adventure Trust. At 13 metres it is the highest one in the Bay. It is open on Tuesdays: 4pm - 9pm, Thursdays: 4pm - 8pm and Saturdays: 11am - 4pm. The centre's sports Hall and community rooms are available for hire at affordable prices per hour. Hire for sports, events, functions, gatherings, birthdays, meetings or church services.
