Lovely little walk up from the Russell seafront for a beautiful view with california Quail and Tuī galore whilst you're up there. A nice history lesson on the storyboard for anyone interested at the top.
If you don’r have anything else to do in little Russell, it’s worth taking a walk here to admire the panorama of the town and the entire bay in peace. By the way, you can learn something interesuje about the history of the area. Walking out here takes from pier about 20 minutes.
After a great cruise to hole in the rock and some bay areas, we got off at Russel instead of going back to Pahia. We wanted to walk/trek and found this track not far from where we docked. A good and strenuous walk especially going down to the bay. Nice and enjoyable couple of hours.
Beautiful views and a nice active activity to do while in Russell. We had our 3yo in a pram and 1yo in a carrier. It was reasonably hard work getting to the top with them but worth it for the views. We had to leave the pram behind for the last 5ish minutes which is a bushwalk involving steps
