Great spot to have your meal with a viewthe fisherman's basket was delicious, loved the coleslaw. Was a bit disappointed with the paua and prawn dumplings, it tasted bland. The seafood platter was nice. Otherwise, the staffs were very accommodating.
Called in today to try this place as had originally seen the the owners on the tv, over on holiday from Ireland and would have to say a little disappointed, out of the 6 dishes we had only 2 were good, seafood chowder was very good the only problem was it was left sitting around the kitchen and had formed a heavy skin, fish pie middle of the road, Fishermans basket everything was deep fried in dirty oil and had a bad taste to it, salt and pepper squid was ok not much taste on it, Garlic Bread well it’s hard to mess that one up,nThe starter’s dirty plates were still on the table while we were served mainsnnDon’t think we will be back,
Had lunch with my wife there yesterday. People keep coming in as soon as the restaurant opens at 11.30am. The staff were friendly and helpful. We don't have to wait too long for our meals. My wife had the garlic prawns. The garlic sauce was tasty and had 9 good size prawns. My Crispy Skin Salmon Risotto had a good size piece of salmon on top of very tasty risotto rice. This is our first time visiting since the earthquake. We were impressed with their good services and excellent food quality. We will definitely come back to try other dishes in the very near future.
Great place to eat fish just in front of the sea. Great quality, great service, everybody was smiling and welcoming. Only issue was room temperature, a little bit on the hot side. Apart from that everything's been perfect!
Food and service warm, but we went at the end of winter and it was a little chilly in the covered outdoor section as the drinks were coming from the outside bar and each time staff went through to get the drinks it sent a little draft though. Plenty of heaters running. Highly recommend and will totally be back. We all had the small Cod and chips which was great especially the salad.
