I have a disability and rely on taxis. First Direct are always prompt. Today I had an appointment at Burwood Hospital my driver was Fernando. On getting into the taxi I was a bit unwell. Fernando was kind and helpful. I really appreciated his support. I am so grateful.
I was initially told a taxi wasn't in my area so they couldn't help. 10 mins or so later I received a call from a driver who completed a drop off in the area; he asked if I still required a taxi...I did. After directing the driver to my location whom admitted he wasn't familiar with the area he appeared with a very tidy car, was polite, professional & especially helpful - thank you!
I was a loyal customer however I will not be using them again let alone recommending them. If I could do a negative star I certainly would have. The service, oh wait there wasn’t any, left a LOT to be desired. As previously mentioned by other reviewers I had taxi’s taking up to and including an hour to turn up despite being told it would otherwise. I don’t drive and I have a mobility card so I use the taxi to get home after getting my groceries.I would call back after half an hour to find out how much longer it would be Though Benjamin was always very helpful, pleasant and courteous alas I can not say the same for others. The last time the man I dealt with didn’t give his name and was very rude, when I called after having waited for half an hour, I got the same person who promptly passed me to someone else and she was even ruder than him she said “I can’t just tell a driver to just stop and come and get you” when I asked how much longer it would be having already been told at the start it would only be a few minutes. I must also say that I have had some very nice drivers but I have also had the other side as well. A couple of drivers have flat out told me they other drivers don’t like taking my booking as it’s a very short fare and not worth it. I had also sent an email which was not responded to, which is why this has been a bit long winded so my apologies. I sincerely hope that if the staff are ever in the position of your legs not working properly you will not find yourself in the same situation. As someone who tries to find the best in any situation, I recommend that you not waste your time and money with this company as First Direct means anything but! Very very disappointed.
Very bad service, book a taxi a night before. Waited, phoned them, and they said they are still looking for one, ended up canceling and took UBER.
You can’t speak to anyone as the booking system is automated. Waited 40 minutes with no contact from a driver so had to ring back and cancel through the automated system. We ended up booking an Uber which was to us in 5 mins and you could see where is it was on the app. Taxi companies need to get with the times otherwise they’ll be out of business.
The staff are great but the timeframes are always long, up to 40mins wait sometime. Ive reverted to and will continue to support the ride app ZOOMY which is N.Z owned qnd gives more to the drivers aswell as discount to the consumer
I always use this taxi company because they have some good drivers
I wish I had not chosen these guys but they were first in the queue at the airport. The driver helped get the first case in the car then ignored the second case which we put in ourselves. We went to the Christchurch elms hotel on Papanui road and the meter said $39.30. He charged $47.80 and when queried said there is an airport surcharge. On the way to the airport UBER at 6am in the morning only charged $28.63 into the airport. They are ripping guests off. I did contact the company to ask why and as yet no reply. My advice is to avoid this company

I pre ordered a taxi and had to ask bar staff to ring a taxi. Apparently there was none in the area. How rude and disgusting of a service that is suppose to be there for the public.. .
