Big burgers full of juicy chicken. The burgers had a little too much sauce for me but I would just ask for less if I went again. The loaded fries are drenched in gooey liquid cheese and are super yummy! The food is very rich and filling. Staff were very friendly and ordering on line was easy. The food truck is located next to a very pretty little stream so if you want to eat at the truck it’s a nice place for alfresco dining.
We went twice for the 2 days we stayed in Wanaka. My kids enjoyed the chicken pieces and hubby's burger was huge. The seasoning of the chips was nice but fries was overcooked, very dry. Our overall food experience is good. You have to choose how spicy you want for everything. I have to say the lady who took order isn't that friendly.
Love their chicken, its crispy and tender. Ordered the 2 piece box for 2 days in a row. Would recommend mild or medium for those that cannot take spice, their spicy fries are quite spicy. There are some other stalls and seats available, but i recommend taking out and eating at the lake.
Super juicy and crispy chicken, awesome fries, and enormous portions. Our personal favourite was the firebird burger. It was outstanding. The meltdown burger was really good too but I’d recommend getting a decent spice level on it as there is a lot of cheese that mellows it out. As said above, the portions are really generous so you only need one portion of chips for two people.
So delicious! Crunchy seasoned fried chicken, huge portions, we couldn't finish it alone! We got the medium, though it didn't seem very spicy, more of a mild. Only thing was would have liked larger sauce potions - would be happy to pay for a larger size. Couldn't fault the chicken!
I loveeeee this so much!! It’s one of the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten, it’s breast meat but it’s so juicy and tender. The fries are also packed with flavour! Staff are friendly but the standout is definitely the delicious food! Yummmm
The wings were delicious! It was crispy and not oily. The first time we tried, it was during mid day and we ate in the cold. It was so good that we ordered again that same night, and again the following night. We had to leave Wanaka otherwise I am sure we will buy the wings again. We tried the mild, medium spicy and the most spicy one Stupid Hot. My personal favorite is the medium spicy. Stupid hot was too much for me, but my husband loves it. Try at your own risk!
This is the third time I come to this place and absolutely love the consistency in flavor, ingredients and superb fries. Thank you for all your hard work I’ll be back soon… Much love from Mexico
If I'm ever on death row, my last request would be to eat the Firebird 4 piece box with chips and slaw. Seriously the best chicken and chips I've ever had. The flavours of the crumb is unlike anything I've tasted; the perfect smokey and caramelised blend, crisply wrapping a succulent and moist chicken tender. The chips, well salted with the skin on, producing a satisfying crunch, filled with a puffy white cloud of soft potato. And the slaw made me want to turn vegan temporarily. Love your work. Delicious. 11/10.
Great place to stop by for lunch, crunchy fried chicken and chips. Portions were larger then we expected. Got the smoked chips which was generously seasoned and very delicious. Very much worth a stop by.Food: 5/5
