Everything you need in a bakery - great bread, array of specialty pies good sized with chunky meat, pastries and cakes. Their lemon meringue pie is to die for, we had to go back for another before we left Queenstown! There's usually a line but service is really quick.
Took an ugly picture after I was almost done but this was the best pie hands down for our whole NZ trip and we tried a lot of pies. Crust was flaky and crispy, chilli beef had the right amount of spiciness with nice big chunks and not overly salty.nBoston donuts with cream was well done, powdery sugar on top balanced with cream
Came here every morning before hitting the snow.nPies are good, I liked the steak and blue cheese the most. Venison was a bit gamey. Chicken curry was nice.nnThe most exceptional was the scones- to have with butter melted once the scone was toasted. Wow, it was so good I had it every morning with whatever pie of the day I was having.nnAll in all good bakery, fast service, no need to wait, plenty of space outside to chow down your pies, tomato sauce is free w the pies as it should be, and the coffee is good enough.
I can't believe any other cafe/bakery in Queenstown is still open with this place as an option. 2 pastries, 2 pies, 2 lattes and a water for $45 and it was all so good. Hey guys, if you liked this review SMASH that like button and who knows maybe hit that follow ‍
The lamb and chili pie's were very good. The Boston Cream donut was excellent. The service was excellent the day after Christmas with the line.nnThe only thing that I could recommend would be to have two separate lines, in different directions, for the bakery and the burger shops. We initially stood in the burger line until we realized that we were in the wrong line.nnI would definitely give the bakery a try as everything was very very good.
