Dropped into Fergbaker and tried a few items. The bacon and egg bap was the highlight — soft, buttery bun with a solid helping of bacon and egg, and the sweet and savoury combo from the jam and relish really made it sing. Hearty and satisfying, definitely worth trying.nnI also had the Ferg and Cheese pie, which was warm, meaty, and filling. A good pie overall, though not quite the flavour bomb I expected given the hype.nnFinished with a strawberry tart — sweet, slightly tangy, and visually appealing. It was enjoyable, but just above average in taste.nnPrices are on the steep side, so it feels more like a treat-yourself stop. Still, solid quality across the board, and the bacon and egg bap was the one I’d go back for.
This place is extremely popular, with a long line that often merges with the neighbouring Fergburger shop – both are clearly star attractions in town. I ordered the regular beef pie with a juice, and both were fresh and delicious. The pie had a beautifully crisp crust, and the rich, meaty gravy filling was full of flavour. Highly recommend trying this spot for their pies and fresh pastries!
Stopped by Fergbaker and tried the chicken bacon pie and the steak with blue cheese pie, both were served hot with perfectly crispy, buttery pastry. The flavours were rich and satisfying, especially the bold blue cheese in the steak pie. It was really busy inside, so we took our pies down to the lake and enjoyed them with a view. Totally worth the wait and the walk!
5/5 stars for pies, pastries and coffee.nnImpeccable service and more importantly short queue. We came 12pm, where the bfast crowd is gone and majority of the crowd were queuing for the burgers.nnVenison and Portobello mushroom pie was amazing. So far one of the best I've tried in NZ. Filling was top notch, flavourful and pastry was smelt buttery!nnOverall amazing food! Kudos to the bakers and service team.
Pies from this bakery are just so good and delicious. I have tried the Ferg pie, and the lamb one. I cannot describe how good it is, but once you try meat pies from this shop, it might be hard for you to find more good pies from other shops. However, the meat pies are a bit expensive, but the size of the pies is acceptable for its price. Overall, it tastes great, and worth the price and experience!
