Absolutely amazing and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Warmly welcomed at 8.30pm. Lovely atmosphere and people. Clean, warm, comfortable. Ensuite room had TV, and jug to make tea/coffee. Our room was small and cosy & just what we needed for an overnight stay. Shared kitchen has everything in it that you need - no stove or stove top though. But you honesty don't need it. It's a perfect place to stop over, off the main road and has plenty of parking. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but next time we will.
My friend and I were on a road trip and stayed 1 night here. Such a nice place to stay, with a lounge/ kitchen to relax in, and meet other people. The eatery is quirky, good service and lovely meals. Would stay again definitely. Oh and the reasonable price included a continental breakfast which was unexpected.

Great stay for one night travelling through. Everything you need plus guest lounge/kitchen/zip. Dinner at the Fat Owl next door, brekky at the Fat Pigeon a couple of minutes walk away. Surprisingly had a complimentary EV charger, which we used for a top up.
The former local pub converted into a motel and restaurant I believe. The rooms have been tastefully upgraded most appear to have Kings or larger. Only TV 1 on the telly but free wifi makes up for that . The meal at the restaurant was excellent.nEveryone on staff or owners I dealt with were delightful. I feel replete and am now rested.nRecommend this establishment tucked away in small village NZ
