We had breakfast at the Fat Kiwi Cafe and absolutely loved it. The name truly says it all — the food is outstanding, and you immediately feel like you want to order everything on the menu and risk becoming a “fat kiwi” yourself.nnThe selection is fantastic, both from the menu and from the counter. Everything we saw looked delicious, from hearty breakfast options to sweet treats. On top of that, there’s a small shop at the entrance offering great products, both food-related and other items, which is a lovely bonus.nnThe atmosphere is simple and relaxed, with plenty of seating, and we had no trouble finding a nice spot. A clear recommendation for anyone who enjoys a generous breakfast and loves both sweet and savoury food.
Very busy cafe with a huge variety of food. Really impressed with the gluten free cabinet, it’s rare to see this much available. We all just had a drink and they were all great. Will be back with my gf-free sidekick.
A perfect pit stop on the road to Waitomo! The Fat Kiwi Big Breakkie offers a generous, well-balanced spread of eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, toast, and savory pork belly. The coffee hits the mark, the counter staff are welcoming, and the facilities are spotless. Plus, the easy parking makes it a totally stress-free visit.
Great café with delicious looking fiod in their cabinet. Plus a lunch and breakfast menu. Food came very quick.nJust a suggestion to serve some maple syrup with your corn pesto fritter as it was a little dry. My partner would have appreciated a little chutney with his pork sausage roll.
I wanted to share this personally with the staff before I left but they were very busy. The brunch we had was extremely generous and very good. Though they were busy our food from the menu arrived quickly, we were instantly surprised by the quality. Many thanks to the staff, will return again and recommend.
