Went there for a family birthday lunch, so didn't experience the accommodation. However, the food was plentiful, original, tasty, and well presented. The service was outstanding and the location is awesome, with bush and waterfalls nearby as well has some historic walks etc. Highly recommend this place.Service: 5/5
Had the most amazing meal at The Falls Retreat, situated in Karangahake Gorge. Amazing ambience coupled with amazing staff and truly out of this world, chefs. The food is truly memorable and I will eventually work my way through the menu next time I return. Whoever reads this review, and are hungry and are in the vicinity....do call in...you won't be disappointed.
This place is filled with so much love in everything they do. It's absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend visiting. The family that runs it is great and Chloe makes everything amazingly easy and beautiful for the best stay. We will visit again!Rooms: 5/5
Wonderful stress free escape with the doggo. I ate like a queen at every meal continental breakfast with beautiful local fresh produce, packed picnic lunch, hamper and ofc the Feast menu at the restaurant. Then worked off all the food indulgence guilt with bike ride on the Rail trail bike hire organised by Falls Retreat. Doggo and I were very comfy and cosy by the fireplace in the Rose Cottage, and we enjoyed wandering the beautiful gardens and the easy stroll to Victoria Battery.
We stopped off and enjoyed a beautiful lunch at the Falls Retreat Restaurant over the long weekend. Lovely relaxed setting and delicious food - the lamb was superb. I would highly recommend to others.
We spent just one night here, in the cute little Waterfall Cottage. It has everything you need in a compact 10sqm space set among a beautiful forest environment and with a view of the nearby waterfall. The ladder to the loft was slightly daunting but we were warned in advance. Cosy and snug with lovely outdoor bath and really good shower plus a very generous breakfast basket. We also ate in the restaurant with two friends - two of us vegans and the food was super creative, plentiful and served with a friendly smile. A truly recommended experience. Just back to Auckland now and feels like we have been away a week. Thanks The Falls.
Came here just for the food, they serve course meals on weekends, dinners Thursday onwards. Best to ring to check for availability. Really enjoyed my meal Service: 5/5
Overall food was good. Lots of fresh ingredients, I assume from their quite splendid garden. Good place for kids. My pork belly was chewy rather than crispy, but others had great meals, the beef cheeks and snapper were highlights. And the starter platters were pretty good too.Service: 4/5
Beautiful and peaceful place. Food was delicious and is grown from their gardens. We were a group of 6 and we ordered the 2 course meal which was sufficient.
We had an absolutely amazing dinner here, such a magical spot with delicious food. A lovely treat, we will be back!
