The room was very dirty, and there were flies as soon as we entered. The bathroom had no space to put clean or dirty clothes, which was extremely inconvenient. The fire alarm kept going off continuously during the night even though there was no fire.nnThe only positive aspect was that the staff were friendly and the drinks she recommended were very good. The restaurant may be worth visiting, but I strongly advise against staying here.
I have decided to have my say due to what I witnessed the other day by a couple of extremely rude, arrogant and disrespectful individuals that visited this venue whilst I was enjoying a few drinks with friends. I’m appalled to see Karran and bobs posts that appear to be unhappy with the service given which is the exact opposite to what was actually the case. He was abusive and extremely disrespectful towards the bar staff demanding he receive change for his big bills he arrived with acting like a spoilt little brat! The bar staff were very helpful and directed him to the ATM a few meters down the road but he only had huge notes and no money in his bank obviously and was very distressed and lashed out with horrible language etc before storming off.nThanks to the wonderful staff at the top pub in Fairlie and as a local we value your establishment and your wonderful staff who are always cheerful and great to chat with every time we enjoy your company. Thanks and get a life bob/karran!
Shockingly bad service from start to finish. Staff were arrogant, rude, and spoke with unnecessary attitude the entire time. It felt like customers were inconveniencing them just by being there.nnThe atmosphere was ruined by their behavior, and the lack of basic respect says everything about how this place is managed. Hospitality clearly means nothing here.nnThere are far better bars around that actually value customers. This place deserves to be avoided until they learn manners and professionalism.
Very dated in every way possible. Smelly dark communal area. Mattress too soft. Only one light in the room. Included breakfast consisted of frozen bread, jam, and cereals. TV doesn’t work. Communal showers/toilets are very basic, hostels or camping sites have better ones. Worst pork schnitzel in my life... smelly, disgusting tasting, only positive is that the one bite I took didn't result in a food poisoning.
Absolutely pathetic experience at this hotel bar. If you are running a gaming bar, having no cash change is basic business sense. How do you expect customers to play or spend money when you cannot even manage something as simple as change for a $100 note?nnOn top of that, the staff were rude, arrogant, and acted like customers were the problem. Terrible attitude, zero professionalism, and embarrassing management standards.nnIf you cannot handle basic cash flow and customer service, you have no business operating a gaming bar. Avoid this place unless you enjoy disrespect and incompetence.
