Story

Expressions is a fantastic arts and entertainment hub just 30 minutes drive from Wellington.

The complex includes:
* a 200-seat theatrical performance venue - Gillies Group Theatre
* the public art gallery for the city - Mitre 10 MEGA Create and Golden Homes Galleries
* the civic hall event and recreation venue - The Professionals Recreation Hall
* a licensed cafe and caterer - Limelight Cafe.

Expressions galleries and TicketDirect box office are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Sunday.

Limelight Cafe is open 8.30am to 4pm on the same days as the centre, and for one hour prior to performance on show nights.

Entry to galleries is free!

More than an arts centre, all the elements of Expressions are available for hire, seven days per week.

i-site tourist information counter inside. Staff is very friendly and has lots of information. There is a cafe, a gallery, sport centre and a concert hall. Gallery have seasonal display and currently on 100 years handbag. Admission is by gold coin donation.
Art + Food? Amazing combination. Whirinaki is a good little gallery that showcases local artisans. If your hungry or need a drink after rounds of masterpieces, then your in luck! Just outside the reception is Dough Bakery! Whirinaki hold events such as book fair, Artisan craft market small businesses showcase and more!
A fun little gallery that focuses on quality over quantity. Always something interesting to experience. And always at least one exhibition that is aimed at kids. We love coming and spending an hour here. Events like the book fair or lego exhibition make it well worth travelling to. And the attached cafe Dough is great - but the price tag matches the quality!

A nice public town hall with a small gallery and upstairs event centre. The private cafe is excellent and well worth visiting
Actually went late on a Saturday to visit Dough Cafe - staff are lovely, service great even though we were the last customers.
Great place to bump into people you know. Usually something interesting going on. Food and coffee is good too
We were there for the book fair. Great to see so many people participating and buying used books
