American style theater with first run movies, comfy oversize chairs and air conditioning. You can buy a jumbo bucket of popcorn and a jumbo Coke Zero for $20 NZ, or double both for $33 NZ. I was especially grateful for the fountain drinks, although you will need to watch the concessionaire staff carefully and insist they keep dumping more ice into your cup because New Zealand is the land of ***NO ICE***. The movie selection was first run but NOT superhero movies from the marvel universe because we were not 20-something males from the US.
Event Cinemas Whangārei offers a comfortable movie experience with spacious seating, good sound, and clear screens. Staff are friendly and service is efficient. A great spot to catch the latest films with friends or family, right in the heart of town. Clean, convenient, and enjoyable every time

Good customer service from the staff today even tho they were super busy they were still serving everyone quite quickly ! A smaller scale cinemas then what we are use too and the overall pricing for snack combos was great added to the tickets price tho abit on the high side for the cinema we watched the movie in we didn’t have the members discount so understandable . The cinema had a really odd odour that wasn’t pleasant during the movie, seats need abit of TLC some are well worn down and a lot of them had cup holders that were taped off overall was a okay place to hang out while visiting Whangārei and given the weather hopefully they get some arcade games and recliner seat options in all the cinemas or fix the damaged ones
Great place to watch movies!nI love going to Event Cinemas. The seats are comfy, and the sound is amazing. The Cinebuzz card gives good discounts, which is a big plus!
