Great place with great food and great selection of wines. Make your reservation and enjoy a very tasty Italian night in the heart of Dunedin. The flat bread, pizzas, pasta and desert are excellent and you can’t go wrong with anything you choose from the menu. There is also a pasta for every taste, either you like it hot, stronger or delicate flavours, the selection of pasta is broad and you will definitely find one that you will enjoy.
It's one of the lovely but always crowded restaurants in Dunedin with extremely friendly and attentive staff. You can have one of the most delicious seafood pizza Marinara here. Their pastas are as yum too.
Absolutely loved this place! Def order the pizza bread as a started with some prosciutto and salami on the side. Your piece of Italy in Dunedin. Almost all the dishes are authentic more the pasta than the pizza and the staff is doing the best job. Friendly and extremely accommodative. Pasta grande are really grande portions. We had to take them with us. If you love salty and spicy, get Puttanesca no it doesn't taste fishy at all because of the anchovies. Venison pasta was also a winner. Carbonara as well! The Amatriciana bianca were a bit dry. Their Pinot Noir is one of the best I have had. And the prices are very reasonable!
Always love it here. Great pizzas and pasta and awesome atmosphere. When we visit Dunedin we always come here. BYO wine makes it a reasonably priced night out too, handy as there is a liquor store downstairs with a decent selection of red wine.
I enjoyed eating at this restaurant 30 years ago. I still enjoyed it after 30 years later. Though I believe the management has changed, the food still tasted good.Food: 5/5
The food and service was absolutely amazing. The restaurant was booked out and they still attended to us very promptly after we sat at our table. We would definitely return to ETRUSCO AT THE SAVOY next time we were in Dunedin. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF we had an awesome night
Just happened to find this Italian gem of a restaurant on our walk into town looking for a place to eat dinner. Saw people through the windows on 1st floor of Savoy building from the street and the place looked cosy with beautful old windows. The inside didn't disappoint with stunning architectural details, original wooden floors, big leadlight windows and ornate ceilings. It took a while for someone to eventually take our order, but the food was worth it. We had the rosemary and salted flat bread to start which was very good, then the medium size not grande which are huge venison pasta called Cervo and my friend had the Carbonara. Both absolutely divine! You have to ask for salt, a pepper grinder and parmesan to add to the pasta, which I thought would be standard condiments on every table. Also had the Panna Cotta with raspberry sauce for dessert, which was a very generous portion size and perfectly wobbly the way it's supposed to be. My friend had the Crostata al Limone lemon pie, which looked like a cheesecake. Very nice but maybe a bit too much cream. Very busy restaurant on a Monday night, which showed how popular the place is. Would definitely go back again.
Excellent place with friendly staff, good music good service. Main food exceptionally, only I wished got a cheeses for my spaghetti. Dessert, average. Good work team.
5 Star Italian dining experience. Family owned and run business, with food and service second to none. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, you won't be disappointed. Patriarch Fred has raised and trained his two sons to continue the success of this great restaurant. Treat yourself. My only regret is I live in the North Island and rarely visit Dunedin! The Amatriciana Bianca and Pizza Marinara we had were primo!
Wonderful food and amazing ambience Probably the best pasta ever Highly recommend anyone who loves Italian food, it is a must try!Food: 5/5
