Of the world's 6,500 people groups, 2,500 are still unreached. Ethnos New Zealand helps local churches train, coordinate and send missionaries.
The mission's focus is on people groups where no clear presentation of God's Story as revealed in the Bible has been made. When such a group is identified, Ethnos first attempts to make contact and establish a relationship.
Upon invitation, missionaries are sent to learn the culture and language of the unreached people group, while further developing relationships and providing humanitarian aid. The missionaries translate the Bible into the indigenous language, as well as teach the people how to read and write in their own language.
The goal is to establish mature churches that operate independently of missionaries among those who believe which, in turn reach out to their own people and to neighbouring tribes.
