We have done about 4 or 5 rooms with these guys and every single time it has been outstanding. The service, the rooms, the storylines… everything is fantastic. After travelling around the North island and trying escape rooms, these guys are the best. The puzzles provide just enough challenge while being fun and manageable. You have the opportunity to try out some board games before or after your room. 10/10 recommend these escape rooms!!
We very much enjoyed the tabby lane room. The puzzles were cute and playful. We also had a nice time chatting with the owner. It’s always nice to see when an escape room owner or even a game manager are enthusiasts themselves. She was a great person to get recommendations from for rooms across the islands
So. We booked in for the easiest room so our kids could be more of a part of it. We made it out alive. We then straight away booked a second much harder room, and made it out even quicker! Fantastic rooms! I just wish they weren't over when they are...I've never had enough!!!! Kids loved it and solved heaps, but they are seasoned kid pros now. Our host Ash was superb!!! Really freakin sold the story, it was brilliant and we hope we see you again someday when you've made your own room!!! We'll be back down to play it for sure!
We came here for a rainy day activity coming from Pōkeno and we completed Tabby Lane on our first visit. The room was amazing and the perfectly challenging. We fell in love with the experience and decided to come back for two more rooms the very next day Bloodstone Keep and Forsaken Farmhouse. The staff are amazing, their storytelling before the rooms is very engaging and they made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely fantastic! Did two of their rooms and loved them both - great themes, unique puzzles and the staff are lovely too. We will definitely be back to do more rooms when we can, they were definitely some of the best escape rooms we have done!
We loved our experience at Escapist! We were greated by a very enthusiastic staff member - he was awesome. The room itself was good. We chose the Forbidden Farmhouse, and as advertised, it was pretty creepy!! Spookers vibes and frights for sure. The puzzles were good - both word and physical touch puzzles. We would happily visit again and next time would book an earlier time, as you get free board game playing time with an escape room, with their extensive board game library
Best escape rooms I’ve ever done, well thought through. Great team working there - always super friendly and helpful. And great selection of board games and snacks to entertain you before and/or after the escape room!
Slightly hard to find on the street but holy heck this place is an amazing find. Lovely service they gave us water after we had finished the tabby lane escape room which wad thought out and placed so precisely, some mind blowing puzzles thought out. They also have a great selection of board games.
Have played one room with my teenage children. And have been to a gaming evening. The staff are amazing and incredibly accommodating for my 15 year old who is in a wheelchair. Could not recommend more.
Amazing! Ka kino te haere! Tzolk'in was my first ever escape room and, having wanted to do one for so long, I had high hopes. And boy did they deliver, and exceed my expectations! I was at first a bit apprehensive because of the pricing, but as I walked in I knew that they put so much effort and care that makes the price right; actually, a really good deal! This is the only board game + escape room facility in Hamilton so there's the exclusivity, and they do not disappoint for either. After such a good experience I went for a second time but with a different group. I did the same room again, and it was still just as fun even though I already knew half of the clues. It was like reading a good book for a second time, because I noticed some of the little details that I glossed over the first time. Oh and did I mention the storyline? The background set up as well as the ultimate objective made so much sense. So much fun that drew me into the game instantly with just enough difficulty. I would love to try Tabby Lane next time. Thank you so much for an amazing experience. Ka kite!
