Came here on a wee spontaneous date night.. Think we got the beef or lamb burger and chicken bites side OMG the chips were amazing. Probably best chips ever! And the chicken.... So moist and crunchy! Meat could do with a teeny bit more seasoning but other than that pretty much perfect! Beer was great too! Great selection and fantastic wee vibe. Will come back again.
Really enjoyed put visit to eruption brewery. Plenty of beers on tap and a great sour in lieu of cider but Seismic cider is now back in stock. Great views, really nice food including vegetarian and helpful team. Highly recommend.
Possibly the worst experience we've ever had. We got a platter for four to share to start. $56 and its half a loaf of dollar bread. Shortly after it arrived our mains came. I've never had as much water drip from a burger in my life. Bun soaking! Apparently the chef likes it that way... We won't be back for $1 toast, and soaking wet burgers. And hi to the manager in the purple shirt who didn't have the courage to come say hi, instead sending a lovely woman who was exceptional at her job.
Excellent local brewery/ pub in the heart of the village. Really good selection and staff showed a real passion for what they are brewing, taking time to talk through the various options. Good pub grub options to go with drinks on the terrace overlooking the harbour or inside to soak up the atmosphere on live music nights. Highly recommended.
This is a really great place for dinner! The place itself is really cool and inviting, there's a balcony you can eat on, you can sit inside, or you can go up to the roof and eat there overlooking lyttleton. We went here on a first table booking and the staff were amazing and the chef cooked us some amazing food. The girl serving us Erin was so lovely and catered to all of our small, annoying requests and even gave us both a drink on the house because it was accidentally made twice, she was honestly so great!. I could not fault this place, would definitely come again :
Another must visit when in Lyttelton I reckon. Roof top bar is just the best. Has great views of the harbour. Second floor had a balcony with views over the street. Great place to enjoy some delicious beers in the sun
The quality has declined dramatically over the past 2 years. It is impossible to be served. You would think if you have a table of hungry people wanting to spend money on food and beer, they should be happy about this. But you can't even give them your money. The waitress ignores you. Even when it's not busy. Then when you finally get some service, they mess up the order or give you the a small beer instead of a large beer and say they will only charge you for the small beer but you get charged for the large beer. It's a joke. I have given them 3 chances recently, that's it. Goodbye, Eruption.
Went on Friday night and had great food especially the cauliflower. But the customer service was exceptional. They went out of their way to get cream for a friends coffee fix. Thanks guys it was a great night.
We were recommended this place to have dinner and a few drinks. The bartender was incredibly rude. Basically didn't want more customers despite having multiple tables free. Maybe short-staffed, not sure. Overall just didn't feel welcome at all. Wouldn't go back.
Omg, what an unexpected epic experience. I can't wait to go back. Staff awesome. Chefs are very fun and the magic they put on the plate. Everything my daughter's and myself ordered was a gastronomic experience. Pizza like it should be, homemade, real tomato homemade sauce. Chunky chips were sensational. Calamari out of this world. Beer tasters so good. Cool vibe with brewery and quirky decor. Take a bow.
