Absolutely incredible rooms! Myself and my partner went with our two friends and we had the best time. Well worth the trip out to little river. We’re all escape room enthusiasts and found the difficulty perfect. The Platform room especially was so unique and so much fun. Loved it and recommend for anyone looking for a fun activity close to Christchurch :
Encryptomania was fantastic! We found the Platform 4267 room an engaging and challenging experience. The room is extremely well thought out and decorated and the hosts are friendly and extremely helpful throughout the experience. Thank you so much for having us. We will be back to do the other room sometime!
Went and did both of their rooms as a team of 2. The staff were great. However, the rooms were extremely challenging with not many teams fully completing them under the strict 60 minute time restriction.nThe Platform 4267 room had a few things go wrong which meant the staff were in our room often. We also left confused over some of the puzzles as we found they weren't relevant to the actual story. Almost like they were placed in there to distract teams from the actual puzzles. For a 7/10 room it is extremely hard.nThe Novice room we actually found much easier. All the puzzles were relevant to the story and progression of the room. Again, the staff were in there often, even when we felt to be fine. We spent probably 30mins alone just on a jigsaw type puzzle as it was almost flat against the wall, causing the pieces to fall. We also had a puzzle not work which caused a lot of confusion. We didn't make it to the end of this room but were shown the last couple of puzzles. Turns out, the staff member didn't know one and we had to help him. We also found that we never would have finished as he applied force to place some items. We never would've forced anything around like he did, which would have caused us to lose anyway.nnThe clue system of picking papers out of a bottle is also extremely inefficient. 1: There was no timer in the rooms, meaning that you didn't know how long you've spent on a puzzle. This makes it hard to take a clue. 2: The customer doesn't know the amount of puzzles in the room. It's hard to take a clue also in this regard. It would be more efficient if the staff used walkie-talkies to give clues as they would come in anyways to help.nnThe staff were nice, but I wouldn't recommend making the drive to do these rooms. Good to go to if you're already there though.
Awesome experience with friendly hosts. Well thought out escape room The Train with lots of dynamic problems for all types of thinkers. Really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. A++
What a fantastic experience. Well thought out and a really beautiful layout. This space kept us on our toes. I recommend this for everyone, our group aged from 9 to 60+ and we all enjoyed it. Great work team.
