Saw a movie here with my friends and were having a blast being the only ones in one of the small rooms. The man at the counter was funny, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Just got a bit scared when the lights didn't turn on at the end of the movie. Great price for students. Only problem was that it was quite dusty : two of us are allergic to dust so sneezed a lot in the movie haha.
Wonderful theatre of a kind you don't see any more. Happy memories made with my Grand daughter. Little Civic...small town style. I'm making a nostalgic trip back with her as a surprise. I cant wait!
Today was nearly wrecked by a pair of grandparents with very young children. They explained what was going on on screen constantly, had an argument with each other, fed the kids noisy sweets, in general had a rotten time themselves. We forbore saying anything because it was obvious that they were in a bad place. Little kids and movies longer than 20 minutes don't mix! That aside we again liked being in our "local" theatre.
Great little cinema we attended this week to watch Lion, this place is obviously ran by Cinema lovers. Sour sweets were good too! A little bit of noise intruded from the film being shown in the adjoining screen but other than that great.
Good quality screen and the old style theater is quite cool. Although the chairs could use some updating and the prices are very high. Suggest bringing your own snacks
Good selection of movies and it is such a good feature our town. The actual presentation of the lobby is lacking in ambiance and the toilets could do with a refurbishment - but you come for the film, so not a big problem.
Cute old cinema building. Disappointed that adjoining cafe not operating now. Also feel lighting on theatre stairs not adequate if you have not been there before. Overall enjoyed the movie and people running the theatre front desk and ticket taking very pleasant.
Went here to see cars 3 with my son, nephews and other adluts too. Is a lovely theatre and much cheaper tickets than in Auckland. Also good snacks that were reasonably priced
Quite a cute little cinima for a town of its size. I quite liked the atmosphere of the decorations in the cinina itself. Only downside, the drinks we buy at the cinima dont fit in the chair cupholders while your watching. The cinima seating is on a slight wooden floor slope and myself and a few others kicked their drinks over and they rolled several seat sections to the front bit of a laugh but over all id go back.
Dont come in summer, theres no aircon. Felt like a form of torture. The cinema had chairs that were either filthy or broken. I also don't recommend coming in winter as some cinemas have no heating. Don't bring a backpack cause the owner will confiscate it and any drink that doesn't fit the bottomless cup holders. Wish there was a 0 star score I could give.
