I had the vegan dinner plate with my boyfriend, it was very nice. Maybe a bit expensive, but you get a lot of food, so go there when hungry! The owner was also really friendly. Would recommend!!
Amazing experience. Best Eritrean food in Antwerp. Would recommend everyone to go and eat at Elsie’s Eritrean & Ethiopian restaurant. We got a little fire work for a birthday of a friend with traditional coffee and popcorn. Loved it Vegetarian options: Vegan & vegetarian options
Amazing food; we had combination platter with 2 meat options: the Doro chicken and Beef Zigeni. The owner is also very friendly!!The meal was so affordable as well. Will definitely be back
Our host was hospitable and informative. The diner is humble and the food is of good quality. We will surely return. We still need to taste her traditional coffee.
I went to the restaurant with my partner as the reviews were very positive. I did like the food and the friendliness of the staff, but there are some points to take into account to be fair on the review. 1 - Ambient: It is a very small place tables are for 2 to seat comfortably but most of them had 4 chairs, meaning that if you go with friends, prepare to squeeze. The ventilation of the place is poor, I went on a Saturday, all tables were full and the air was heavy, that said, we had to put all our clothes straight to the laundry after we returned from the restaurant. 2 - Waiting time: As I mentioned, we went to the restaurant on a Saturday and it was packed, but waiting for the food for 1h 40 minutes is quite long. So, despite the fact that the food is good, I do not think it worthies the waiting time and the ambient. My suggestion is, if you go there, be one of the first customers in the evening, so you get to enjoy a good meal without having to go through the long waiting time.
A very delicious and vegan Dinner. The Restaurant is very vegan-friendly. althought they have not vegan options. We enjoyed ist very much.
We love Elsie's! The owner is wonderful, and is even willing to prepare things that work for my husband's difficult diet! The food is delicious and plentiful, and I really appreciate it that Elsie makes her own injera from real Teff flour, so that they are gluten-free. Don't forget to try the home-made honey wine!
