Our go to place in Auckland city. Gorgeous atmosphere and great food. The Italian restaurant as you walk in, has fantastic food at a very reasonable price. Parking under The Warehouse or Plaza hotel. Only two blocks from Sky tower. Pizza is authentic and very tasty. Big pizza for around $13. Same for pasta and risotto. Friendly service too
A group of us grabbed a feed from Bonz Cajun Kitchen, Smash Bros & Hop In Latino. All good food. Experience of different cuisines makes this a cool joint to visit.
Brilliant alternative food court in Auckland city - grungy decor with neon lights and dark stone. Cocktails & Cajun, pizza & pints… burgers & bao! The staff are quick to sort out tables and even the bathrooms are well attended. A+
Elliott Stables is a must-visit place in Auckland. My husband and I visited Elliott Stables twice during our Auckland trip. The first time we had Streaker burger and Vanilla shake from Smash Bros and Pancetta pizza and Fettuccini Alfredo pasta from De Niro Ristorante. The Streaker burger was the best burger I have ever had in my life! It was so good that I had to get up in the middle of my meal to compliment the chef. It was absolutely amazing!!! My husband said that his Vanilla shake was one of the best milkshakes he had in New Zealand. The Pancetta pizza was also absolutely delicious. The Fettuccini Alfredo pasta was delicious, just your standard Fettuccini Alfredo pasta flavours so you cannot go wrong with pasta. The second time we came we had Skillet cornbread, Texas beef brisket, and Jambalaya from Bonz Cajun Kitchen and Angry bird bao, Philly cheese steak bao, and Pork and prawn dumplings from Bao Baby Bao. The Skillet cornbread was sooooo good. They make it fresh when you order so it is nice and warm when it reaches your table. The butter on the top of the bread had no chance to melt because we eat it so quickly. Beyond delicious!! The Texas beef brisket and Jambalaya were also very delicious. The Jambalaya had a bit of spiciness which was amazing. I loved the chunks of sausage and rice inside Jambalaya. Out of the two baos that we ordered we both preferred Angry bird bao because the chicken was so delicious and moist while the sauce had an amazing flavour. The Pork and prawn dumplings were also very delicious. The actual dumpling was cooked to perfection. Overall, we had an amazing time at Elliott Stables. If we had more time, we would have been back for a third time to try other restaurants like Hop in Latino.
Very nice atmosphere and setup. Great selection of food choices. Only downside can be the noise, but overall great place to have a cosy meal.
Good place to dine as there's a bit of something for everyone. Some places are a hit and miss but there are some that are mostly consistent. A lot of the eateries have come and gone but it is a nicer version of a food court. My go-to is Bonz Cajun. Great location and close to the Civic, Aotea Centre and Town Hall if you need a pre-show bevy or meal. There is some outdoor seating high tables so if you want to dine outside just make sure you have warm clothing. They can also accommodate large group bookings.
This has been a favorite for lunches for many years. Choose from the interesting variety of food options and eat at a food court like no other - made from the old stables. Love the ambience! Try this hard iced tea from Baby Bao Baby - just yum.
Second time visiting Elliott Stables and loved it again! Beef tacos were my faveee from Hop In Latino. Dumplings from Bao Baby Bao we're yummy and dipping sauce tastes like hoison. Pork belly bao was delicious but the philly cheese didn't taste like much according to my partner. Ribs from Bonz Cajun Kitchen were perfectly cooked! But small portion of chips. Can't wait to come back and try more!!
It has changed a bit in the last couple of years, in a good way with a couple of new places. There are still a few places that are empty so looking forward for the new food that I could try!! I had Bang Bang Chicken Noodles and Salad from Bao Baby Bao and it was just good!
We ate lunch here as a family parents and two primary aged kids and it was so yum and well priced and food for everyone. Our daughter had a $14 pepperoni pizza that was full size and delicious. I had bao buns, they were so tasty. Our son had hot chips, and even they were great by hot chips standards. We were really susprised by the great price and amazing tasting food, we would definitely come back.
