This restaurant is really suitable for meat eater. The foods are very tasty! Juicy steak with perfect cooking time, beef cheek is very soft and juicy with delicious spice flavour.Cheese cake with toffee cream that is perfect choice. And I love that dessert wine so much. I am looking forward to go this restaurant again.
Great food and service. Portions are rather large for tapas. We ordered 6 tapas and they were all very good. Reservation is not accepted and tables fill up quickly after 6 pm on a weekday.
Our first time dining at El Matador. We had a great experience. Friendly and efficient staff. Fantastic menu with great variety of tapas covering vegetarian, vegan, GF, seafood, meat etc. We went for a selection of tapas which came out quite quickly. We had the option of having them as they were ready, all together or spaced out. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Stand out for me were the beef cheeks. I would add that the sizing of the tapas is generous. Each one would easily suffice for a main size meal so we could have ordered less dishes. Would pay to ask staff how big the dishes you are ordering might be. Atmosphere suits the type of restaurant. Will definitely go back for more!
Absolutely amazing! We waited about 1 hour and 50 mins to be seated due to being so busy and it was 100% worth the wait!! Recommend to everyone looking for an awesome meal and awesome service. Will definitely be back.
A popular venue that usually has a queue waiting to get a table for dinner. Service was slick and safe and the paella didn't disappoint NB: this takes 40 minutes to prepare. The crowning glory were the churros. The absolute best I have ever tasted anywhere! These alone were worth 5 stars.
The food was delicious and the service was OK. I didn't like their back salon, though, as it was truly cold. I would recommend booking if you plan to go there during weekend; had to wait about an hour to get a table on Saturday night. Vegetarian options: It's a grill house; I won't recommend it to vegetarians.
Cosy place with a rustic casual ambience, noise level was good, you can have a conversation without shouting even when it's busy. Unless you are particularly keen on tapas, I'd recommend keeping it simple and just go straight for the Wood Fired Steaks, which come with salad and potatoes. We ordered a range of tapas too, and they were generally fine, except the lamb loin, which was pricey for the relatively small portion. If you must have tapas and want red meat, try the beef short rib instead. But the Wood Fired Steaks are the best value on the menu and I'll return for a casual dinner and have just that next time.
First time trying out El Matador really impressed with the quality of service and food. Big portions, Steaks cooked to perfection. 10/10 recommended!!!
Birthday weekend for the Aucklander, craving for Argentinian BBQ of which we have plenty to chose from up north. El Matador did not disappoint, Sunday evening and our group of 5 needed to wait for an hour and happily ushered to the bar down the back until we could get seated as the place was very busy. The food service, recommended plates were top notch highlights the prawns and parrillada shared platter were amazing thank you so much for the wonderful experience and food. Highly recommended
Simply the best churro ever! So light inside and crispy outside, the chocolate sauce is dark chocolate, and the dolce de leche is just perfect, not too sweet but rich in flavour! Needless to say about the sirloin steak, 6 stars for everythingFood: 5/5
