El Jakedo is a hidden gem. It's nestled in the Papamoa Hills with stunning views overlooking Mount Maunganui and beyond. You can only visit by appointment, it's worth it for the drive and the location alone. If you're lucky, your knowledgable and friendly host will show you around the property, inspirational in it's self. There is an amazing selection of succulents and cacti here, I was a little overwhelmed, you're going to find plants here that are definitely not in Bunnings or Mitre 10! There's an incredible variety to choose from at great prices, if you're looking for a statement plant for your garden you might just find it here! If you're a succulent or cacti hoarder, you'll be in heaven. Bring cash.
