Great vegan options, some of the lightest and most crispy spring rolls I've had. Lovely dumplings, but the Dan Dan noodles had no szechuan flavour or heat and were a bit anodyne<b>Food</b>: 3/5
Great food in a lively shared venue. Really enjoyed the tonkotsu ramen, very flavourful and the toppings are great! Could do with an extra piece of chashu, maybe ask if it can be an add-on. Very friendly and helpful staff, food came out quite quickly. The venue has market-style shared seating, and gets quite busy. Keep an eye out for open seats, may end up sharing a bigger table with another group. Parking: If it&#39;s a weekend and you&#39;ll be out for more than 2hrs, the gravel parking lot on the corner of Asaph and Tuam has a flat rate $6 weekend fee. Works out cheaper for longer parking than the Asaph St lot outside this eatery.
Got the prawn, mushroom and pork dumplings, they were devine! The filling was juicy & flavourful and the texture of the dough makes this dumpling stand out from the rest. They also give a generous side serve of chilli oil which compliments the dumplings quite well.
We got the dozen dumplings half beef and half pork and the deluxe bento. Food was okay for the price. Never had wine pulled beef dumplings before! Taste was okay; flavour wise not bad, but more of the flavour could be enhanced! Would’ve appreciated more salmon for the price: bigger cuts would help! But overall, it was decent for a quick lunch option :
Been to Christchurch twice and both times headed straight for this place to order ramen. So warming and flavourful. Yum!
Food is good considering that it is in New Zealand. The Xiao long Bao was not hot and stuck to the paper. The wantons and takoyaki were good.
Had the dumpling platter and the spicy dumplings in chili oil — they were delicious! The texture of the dough is perfect and the flavors are authentic. Don’t forget the spicy chili sauce, it’s got a great kick.
Obsessed with the food here and get it every time I am in Christchurch. Dan Dan noodles, edamame and dumplings are all delicious. It is part of the little high eatery collection of restaurants, great outdoor seating if weather is nice however it does get crowded and can be hard to find a table inside<b>Food</b>: 5/5
Absolutely LOVED eating at Eight Grains!! My sister and I were only in Christchurch for a day and Little High was a perfect spot to hangout and get a sense of the city. 10/10 recommend the dumplings and the bao!!! Vegetarian options: Got awesome vegan dumplings Kid-friendliness: Such a fun spot for a family
Great food! Authentic tasting ramen and fresh sushi. Dietary restrictions: The servers were kind and asked if we had any allergies before placing the order.
