About We are a Christian based Preschool, operating Monday-Friday, from 7:30am-5:30pm. Children 0-5years and we offer up to 30 Free Hours for over 3 year olds. Story We are a Christian based Preschool, operating Monday-Friday, from 7am-6pm. We cater for children 0-6yrs and offer up to 30 Free Hours for over 3 year olds Mission Vision Statement: To provide high quality education for the children of our community, through strong positive values and caring collaborative relationships with whānau. Our beliefs and values: The solid rock of Christian beliefs underpins everything at Little Rock Preschool. Relationships form the solid foundation on which Teaching and Learning is built. Philosophy: • We believe encouraging a spiritual faith is a crucial part of the holistic development of children – healthy in mind, body and spirit. • We value peace, love, kindness, respect and helping others. • We welcome all to Little Rock Preschool and believe in developing strong communication and partnerships with whānau. We value being accommodating and offering hospitality/manaakitanga as much as possible. • Relationships extend to include a partnership with Big Rock School, community volunteers, and our wider world with nature and developing a programme that seeks to be sustainable. • We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti O Waitangi and developing our bicultural journey. We also value the cultural diversity of our community. • We believe that children are unique, and learn in different ways, and come with their own understanding, knowledge, and competence. To empower children to be lifelong learners, we value establishing nurturing, responsive and reciprocal relationships with them - this is fundamental to developing their sense of belonging and well-being, and allowing learning to take place.
