ABOUT CHRISTINE:

My creative side has kept me busy with decorating weddings for over a decade. I have also been painting over this time to help me express this creativity and painting has become a passion. I like to expose, reveal and unveil objects/ideas through my art.

I paint semi-abstract art that is earthy and textural. I paint in both soft muted tones, and strong stark contrasting tones. 
My works are all about the layering and revealing of history, weathering and time-passing on both the landscape  and of ancient man-made objects that still survive. Many of my paintings allude to ancient cultures.

I have photographed patinas on buildings, ancient tiles on floors, natural organic shapes, textured fabrics and so much more at home and overseas.
These sometimes give me a starting point for each painting. Other times I just start layering paint and creating texture and go on an adventure to see what evolves.

I have a strong interest in interior design, and like to do paintings for homes and offices after listening to your ideas on what you would like. ( I am happy to take on commissions for paintings up to a maximum 2 mtr longest side.)
Some of my favourite artists are: Lawrence Carroll, Antoni Tapies, Mirco Marchelli, JMW Turner.
