About A 6 km return walk through ecological forest to view the remaining dam and spillway made to produce power . Contact caretakers for permission. Story The historic track built approximately 20 years ago allows you to walk through regrowth indigenous ecological forest to the dam that was developed with the plan to make power. The scheme was destroyed with a flood in 1998 that took the roof off the power station built in the Pukeatua Stream ( Roaring Meg) bed below the bridge.
