About Welcome to the official Facebook page for the Nelson Airport. We have staff online Monday - Friday from 8am to 7pm & weekends 9am - 5pm. Story Six airlines operate scheduled passenger services to and from Nelson, carrying approximately one million passengers a year. There are on average 60 commercial passenger flights a day along with around 100 more flights every day made up of flight training, air ambulance, helicopter and general aviation flights. Approximately 1.2 million people pass through the main airport terminal every year. Almost 50% of travellers passing through Nelson Airport are travelling for business purposes. The Airport precinct is home to 35 aeronautical and support businesses. Nelson Airport Ltd has restricted International Airport Status to facilitate the smaller private jets coming into the region from overseas. Nelson Airport Ltd is a member of the New Zealand Airports Association.
